Terms and Conditions
The service
Online Rent Agreement provides a free online tool to help users in India prepare a residential rent agreement draft in several Indian languages, plus educational guides on stamp duty, formats and related topics. The website does not stamp, frank, notarise or register the document. It does not create an advocate-client relationship.
Who may use it
The tool is intended for adult landlords and tenants dealing with residential property in India. You are responsible for the accuracy of names, addresses, rent, deposit, dates and other details you enter. You must have the right to let or occupy the property described in the draft.
No legal advice
Pages, FAQs, blog guides and generated clauses are general information for common metro-city residential rentals. Stamp duty, registration, leave-and-licence rules and police verification differ by state and can change. Unusual property, commercial use, co-working arrangements or a dispute should be taken to a qualified advocate in that state.
Drafts and downloads
Downloading a PDF or Word file creates a draft for your review. It is not stamped or registered on this website. Before signing, both parties should read every clause. You remain responsible for paying the correct stamp duty and completing any registration your state requires.
Acceptable use
Do not use the website to prepare documents for fraud, impersonation, or property you do not have the right to let. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, overload it, or scrape it in a way that harms other visitors or the operator.
Intellectual property
The layout, logo, branding and original website text belong to the website operator. You may keep the draft you generate for your own tenancy. You may not copy the site, its tools or its content as a competing product.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, the operator is not liable for loss arising from an unstamped document, an incorrect stamp duty amount, a rejected society or employer application, delayed registration, or a dispute between landlord and tenant. Consumer protections that cannot be excluded by law still apply.
External information
Guides may refer to state practices for stamp duty and registration. Always verify current amounts and procedures with official state sources or a local professional before paying duty or registering.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are published.
